Our Senior Planning Manager, Damian Sullivan MRTPI, attended The Home Builders Federation Planning Conference 2022 at Austin Court in Birmingham last Wednesday.
Key topics covered included the impacts of the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill and the difficult interface between delivering housing and environmental protection. The forthcoming Infrastructure Levy was explained to the degree it is understood at this time. There was even a talk on how the Commonwealth Games has created investment and legacy in Birmingham. The day ended with a thought-provoking discussion about local plan-making.
The event was marked by a distinguished panel of speakers including Joanna Averley, Chief Planner of DLUHC, Catriona Riddell of Catriona Riddell Associates and Richard Blyth, Head of Policy at the RTPI, all chaired by Sam Stafford of the HBF.
This proved an extremely worthwhile planning conference to attend in order to stay informed and we thank the HBF and its speakers for the event.
