A warm welcome to the first in a series of exciting and dynamic new blogs from Sigma Strategic Land (SSL) which aims to tell you more about who we are, what we do and what distinguishes us in the strategic land business.

These blogs will cover news items, opinion pieces and Q&As from a range of industry specialists and organisations. We will also update you on our successes as well.

Sigma Strategic Land (SSL)

Sigma Strategic Land (SSL) is the strategic arm of the Sigma Homes Group business which is one of the south-east’s leading SME housebuilders with an unrivalled reputation for location, quality and design. We are based in the beautiful market town of Horsham in West Sussex. If you are in the area, please stop by at our offices.

SSL focuses primarily upon:

  • Strategic promotion that achieves the delivery of planning consents on both greenfield and brownfield sites, across sites exceeding 1ha in size and across the full range of timescales.
  • We are adept at working with landowners on a personable level in order to maximise land value for residential or mixed-use development.
  • We are open to work in partnership and Joint Ventures with larger scale residential, mixed use and regeneration opportunities.

Geographical Range

Our geographical range principally covers Sussex where we are based, Surrey including the outer London Boroughs and a large number of other counties as shown below.

Who Are SSL?

SSL is headed up by Group Land Director, Chris East, who has over 35 years of experience in the house building, property and construction industry and with a wealth of industry contacts developed over this time. Chris has held senior positions with some of the country’s largest PLC housebuilders, as well as for smaller, bespoke housebuilders.

Chris is supported by Damian Sullivan, Senior Planning Manager, who is a Chartered Town Planner with an environmental specialism (PIEMA) to assess and prepare EIAs. Damian provides the in-house planning advice, as well as assisting in land acquisition.

As a result of this experience, SSL always approaches strategic land promotion using a bespoke planning strategy for each site. This aims to maximise development values and achieve successful planning consent in the shortest period of time. To do this, SSL finds a variety of conventional but also innovative promotion routes in order to achieve the best outcome. SSL ultimately seeks to deliver sensitively designed residential-driven schemes that simultaneously deliver strong financial returns for the landowner and any development partner.
